It was 1975 when Marzio Cecchi designed the Fachiro armchair. This glorious "spiked" seat was preceded by a series of pieces designed since 1958 with a specific theme: living in nature – way ahead of their time.
With a strong outsider's personality, Marzio Cecchi was the son of a famous and visionary couturier, Giulia Carla Cecchi, whose artistic and stylistic suggestions have always influenced the designer's work with grace and firmness. When creating the very first Fachiro, the designer asked a Florentine tailor, who primarily specializes in leather – according to Tuscan tradition. The attention to "pure" craftsmanship reflects part of the values that Gufram embodies today. The imagination of an artist and the precision of an architect: this is how a unique author like Cecchi is born.
The result is a seat that reveals its comfort only when you sit down. They often advise not to judge a book by its cover; so, Gufram advises not to judge an armchair by its spikes. Like Gufram's domestic and functional sculptures, Fachiro challenges the conventions of perception: thanks to a workmanship that leaves nothing to chance, every spike and convexity guarantees the softness and lightness typical of a faux leather-upholstered pouf.
